Amanda Tapping A weekend with her fans October 2005
The Cocktail Party gave 80 lucky attendees the chance to share drinks and eat dinner while getting
to know one another in a relaxed but smart setting, before sharing their table with Amanda while
she sat and chatted to each one of them.
Charity Auction
Amanda's chosen charity for AT1 and AT2 was "Hearing Dogs for Deaf People". You can see
more about this fantastic charity on the Charity page. In the meantime here is a taste of what happened at the Auction in October 2005. Our thanks to the Hearing Dogs for the Deaf for bringing the fabulous puppies and dogs in training
along to meet us, to Amanda and Thomasina Gibson for working so hard during the afternoon and
for the attendees who so generously bid for the items on offer. Over £5800 was raised over the weekend and Gabit is now the proud sponsor of a lovely Hearing
Dog, Gabbie. The dog, chosen by the G4 and named by Amanda is now with her owner in the UK
making a difference to her life.

The Bubblewrap saga
(aka Northie tossing)
The Bubblewrap saga was conceived during planning for the first event
It was originally sparked by a discussion on caber tossing on the Gabit Yahoo group, and an innocent comment by Julia about tossing Northie (ie Tracy North)entered the equation and the Bubblewrap
saga took shape among the more feverish minds on the Group. Designed to raise Julia's blood pressure through the roof at the Event, the end result was hilarious.
Catching the unsuspecting victim off her guard on the Sunday at the autograph session, the stunt certainly achieved its aim. As you can see by the photographs, being confronted by a bubble-wrapped, helmeted Tracy,
Amanda thought it was hilarious and Julia couldn't believe her eyes.
The "Street"
We took Amanda to the set of Coronation Street at Granada TV Studios in Manchester - it's her favourite show. In first she is "pulling a pint" in the Rovers Return pub on set. In the next are Julia and Becky standing in the Rovers Return.
